Something about this one gets under my skin before much has even happened. A young wife has built a careful, quiet life with her husband out in the countryside, and then a couple turns up uninvited, and the visit never quite becomes polite again.
It's the sort of horror that creeps in through the cracks rather than the walls, all mounting unease and the sense that the house itself is slipping out of her hands. It doesn't chase easy scares, just a slow tightening until things tip into something close to chaos, the kind of dread that builds in a home rather than a graveyard.
I'd keep this one for a night when you want to sit with something unsettling rather than switch off, because it asks more of you than most films do, and it rewards a second thought the next morning too. Lights low, nobody talking over the quiet bits, since the quiet is doing most of the work here.
Go in knowing as little as possible. Some films are better met cold, and this is one of them.
