Legacies drops us into a boarding school where the students are witches, vampires and werewolves, and the biggest danger some days is just getting through homeroom without setting something on fire. It follows Hope Mikaelson, who carries all three bloodlines at once, trying to keep a normal-ish life going while the supernatural world keeps turning up at the worst moments.

This isn't the sort of thing that will have you sleeping with the landing light on. It sits closer to fond, twisty family drama than proper horror, with the odd monster-of-the-week problem thrown in along the way. Think less creaking floorboards, more will this friendship survive the apocalypse again.

It's a spinoff, so there's history sitting under the surface if you know where to look, though it stands up fine without the homework. Good for a soft night in when you fancy company on the sofa rather than something that'll have you checking the wardrobe before bed.
