Ravenswood takes the teen drama of Pretty Little Liars into supernatural mystery. It is the franchise’s first spin-off, so that connection gives you a way in, but you do not need me explaining away the strange part before you have even pressed play. I would consider that a fairly serious offence against a mystery.
The fear is in the possibility that an ordinary explanation will not be enough. I have put the scare level in the middle, though that is a guide, not a promise about how any particular episode will feel. “Supernatural” and “horror” tell you what sort of territory you are entering; they do not tell you whether you will need to leave the hallway light on.
There is one season and ten episodes, which makes this a manageable choice for a dark-night watch. Pick it if you like teen mysteries with a supernatural turn, or if the Pretty Little Liars connection has made you curious. I would give it your attention rather than put it on while doing three other things. Half-following a mystery, then blaming it for your confusion, is a little unfair. Even I have to admit that.
