This is Kim Eun-hee's zombie outbreak dropped straight into an old Korean royal court, where the fight over the throne is already tearing the place apart before anything undead turns up. It's history and horror stitched together, an alternate version of the past with a plague the palace would much rather keep quiet.
The fear here builds slowly: corpses that refuse to stay dead, and courtiers who are frankly more dangerous than anything shambling in from outside. Ju Ji-hoon leads it, and there's real weight to the performances given the political mess going on around them the whole time.
Worth knowing it was the first Korean original Netflix ever made, if you like your trivia with your terror. It suits a night when you want horror with some plot to hold onto, not just jump scares. Get a big pot of tea in, because the two seasons go quickly, and the dread only builds.
